Adrenaline rush

Well here we are again. I was thinking last night about this and semi talked with a few co-workers concerning this this very discussion. Is it more of an addiction to the game or is it more of an adrenaline rush that the people are looking for. I know for a fact, as I am talking about myself when I have played the game of Texas Hold'em, that when you win or are in a race off to see who is going to win the hand, when one of the players are all in, that you get a massive rush of adrenaline. Especially when you are playing for an extreme amount of money. So do you think that this could be the addiction to the game? Also when you get this rush, and you end up losing the hand, does the effect of the lose have anything to do with the addiction? You figure if you lose that as most people who are addicted to gambling, if I play again for a little more money, I will be able to make back what I have lost. i leave this up to you and your thought. Have a great day, even though it is raining.

Are we contributing to our childrens gambling addiction

So here is a thought that I am very curious about. Since on-line gambling has become more and more popular, are we the parents or adults in general guilty of allowing our kids to become addicted to gambling. The reason for this is that kids have access to computers and the internet, and since "most" of the on-line poker sites are free play or in other words not playing for real money, are we adding to the poker addiction. If kids under 21 can not get into casinos, but we allow them access to the on-line sites without having to be of legal age, is this our fault, the parents. Or is it the governments fault. They did, for the most part stop(the government that is)playing for real money. Some sites still allow it, but very few. So again here is the question. Are we responsible for our kids getting addicted since they can play on line, at any time or are we not responsible?

Possible causes to poker addiction

Hello all,

So my first blog and still trying to figure this all out, but if you noticed the title we will be discussing poker. My goal is to find out if there is a common link to addictions concerning on-line poker compared to live poker. Before Chris Moneymaker won the WSOP in 2003, poker was really not that popular. But the way he got to the WSOP was playing on-line and qualifing for a seat by winning a tournament. Since this time, Texas hold'em has taken off like a rocket and more and more people are playing. Either on-line or in playing in casinos have had huge success. So which one is more addicting on-line or live play? People have said that since on-line poker is such easy acccess, all you need is the internet and a computer you can play anytime and all the time. But in order to play live, you either need to live near a casino or have a home game. So which do you think is more addiciting? Help me find this answer, if there is one.
